What We Collect
PsychMatic is a static blog. We do not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information to read our articles. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or address through our website.

We use analytics tools to understand how visitors use our site. This helps us improve our content and user experience. These tools collect anonymous, aggregated data.
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymous usage data including pages visited, time on site, and general geographic location (country/city level). This data helps us understand which articles are most useful and how we can improve.
GA4 uses cookies to distinguish unique users and sessions. No personally identifiable information is collected. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how users interact with our site through heatmaps and session recordings. This helps us identify usability issues and improve the reading experience.
Clarity masks all sensitive input fields by default. Clarity does not collect personally identifiable information. Learn more about Microsoft Clarity's privacy practices.

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on our site. Google AdSense uses cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other websites.
Google may use advertising cookies to serve personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

Affiliate Links
Amazon Associates Program
PsychMatic is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. Here is what you should know:
- We earn a small commission on qualifying purchases made through our affiliate links
- This commission comes from Amazon at no extra cost to you
- We only recommend books that are genuinely relevant to the topics we cover
- Affiliate commissions do not influence our editorial content or opinions
Amazon may use cookies to track referrals from our site. This is standard practice for affiliate programs and is used solely to attribute purchases to our recommendation. We do not have access to your purchase details, payment information, or personal data from Amazon.

PsychMatic uses cookies through our analytics partners. Here is what they are used for:
- Tracking anonymous site usage (Google Analytics)
- Recording anonymous user interactions for UX improvement (Microsoft Clarity)

Social Media Integration and Pinterest Data Practices
PsychMatic uses the Pinterest API to distribute educational content to our Pinterest audience. This section describes how we handle Pinterest user data in connection with our integration.
Data We Access Through Pinterest
When authorized, our integration accesses the following Pinterest data:
- Board information to select where pins are published
- Pin creation and management to schedule and publish content
- Account profile information (username and account type) to verify the connection
We only access the minimum data required to publish and manage our own content. We do not access your followers, saved pins, search history, or any personal browsing data.
How We Use Pinterest Data
Pinterest data accessed through our integration is used exclusively to:
- Schedule and publish educational psychology content as pins
- Select appropriate boards for content organization
- Monitor publishing status of scheduled pins
We do not use Pinterest data for advertising, profiling, resale, or any purpose unrelated to publishing our own content.
Data Storage and Retention
Pinterest API tokens are stored securely on our private server infrastructure and are encrypted at rest. We retain only the authentication tokens necessary to maintain the connection. No Pinterest user data is stored in any database, shared with third parties, or used beyond the active publishing session.
When authorization is revoked, all stored tokens are immediately deleted and no Pinterest data is retained.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share any Pinterest data with third parties. Pinterest data is accessed solely by our internal content publishing system and is never exposed to external services, advertisers, or analytics platforms.
Your Rights Regarding Pinterest Data
You may revoke PsychMatic's access to your Pinterest account at any time through your Pinterest account settings. Upon revocation:
- All stored authentication tokens are immediately deleted
- No further API calls will be made on your behalf
- Previously published pins remain on Pinterest per Pinterest's own policies
To request deletion of any data associated with your Pinterest account, contact us at contact@psychmatic.com and we will process your request within 7 business days.
Pinterest API Compliance
Our use of the Pinterest API complies with the Pinterest API Terms of Service and Pinterest Developer Guidelines. We do not engage in any prohibited practices including automated following, mass pinning of third-party content, or circumvention of rate limits.
Third-Party Links
Our articles may include links to external resources, research papers, and book recommendations. These third-party sites have their own privacy policies. PsychMatic is not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites.
Children's Privacy
PsychMatic does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Our content is designed for general educational use and does not require any personal data to access.
